Virtual
Tour
Why do we remodel our homes? Because we care about
where we live. We want to stay in the communities
we love but the houses no longer meet our needs.
These homeowners were able to see beyond the crumbling
plaster and decrepit kitchen they first encountered
when they bought this house. Together we developed
a vision that fit their budget and turned this house
into their dream home. This green remodel incorporates
energy and water efficiency, reuse and restoration
of existing materials, and sensitivity to the materials
installed. Come visit a delightful whole house remodel
that represents both our hard work and the homeowners'
commitment to their neighborhood.

Virtual
Tour
Can contemporary architecture blend seamlessly
with a 1970s rambler? Can we renovate a house with
all the luxury of a new home and do so in a sustainable
manner? Can homeowners' ideas be successfully integrated
into the redesign of their homes? Yes, Yes, and
Yes. The curved exterior shell of this addition
wraps around to accommodate a screen porch under
a lifted peak. Inside, the new kitchen follows
the curve with custom cabinets and honed granite
creating a dynamite space for a chef. Shade tree,
bamboo and honed slate flooring weave the living
room, dining room, bathroom and kitchen together.
Walls jog and jump with color and dimension. Come
and see how easily a customized house becomes home
sweet home. |

4315
Aldrich Avenue South, Minneapolis
This two story backyard addition transforms a closet-sized
kitchen into a spacious eat-in kitchen area and pantry
with shade-tree floors and custom cabinets. In the master
suite, a curved wall acts as both support structure
and eye-catcher, separating the bed from an open walk-in
closet. Individually-cut stones set into the shower
stall tiles suggest a waterfall, and heated slate floors
radiate warmth throughout the room. The new addition
cantilevers over the main level, opening up formerly
cramped sleeping quarters and simultaneously creating
a shelter for the back door entrance.
4844
Washburn Avenue South, Minneapolis
Dressed with batten boards, decorative dormers, and
stucco expertly matched to the home's original, the
exterior of this upper-level addition is architecturally
appealing as it is functional. A foyer with custom
cabinets disguised as built-ins welcomes a guest to
the upper level and spills into the sleeping and bath
area. The master suite features an entertainment wall
whose deep purple color gives way to rusty orange
on the opposite side, where it articulates a space
for sunlit meditation. Original custom thresholds
and heated bamboo floors in the bath further inspire
relaxation. |

addition which unites classic, Four Square style with
modern convenience and design. Features custom birch
cabinets cut to match the original 1912 molding, a
stunning 12'-high ceiling in the stone-floored mud
room, carved wood staircases, and a unique color palette.
6331
Blaisdell Avenue South, Minneapolis
A budget-conscious solution for a growing, urban family.
The brand new second level adds a master suite, kids’
rooms, full bath, and a shared space. Features a traditional
dark-shingled Gambrel roof, rounded interior walls,
and generous closet space. A claw-foot tub and pedestal
sink in the bathroom add to the classic 1930s feel
of the home. |
