2011 Spring Remodelers Showcase

New life for an old house! This ambitious project turned a small 1900 farmhouse into a comfortable home for a growing family while staying true to the architecture and scale of the neighborhood. The addition is meticulously tied in with the original through a central multi-tier staircase that is worth experiencing. Reclaimed flooring, super insulation and salvaged built-in furniture are just some of the many sustainable features of this whole house remodel and addition. 100 words can't do it justice; come experience this amazing project for yourself.

3525 Irving Ave South, Minneapolis (R65)
This beautiful historic home located right off Lake Calhoun was almost perfect except for a dark enclosed kitchen, no first floor bath and lack of a mudroom. We worked with the homeowners to develop solutions for all three that maximized space and were and appropriate to the home. Challenges such as awkward hallways were ironed out with innovative solutions such as a disguised hybrid sliding door/key drop. The beautiful open kitchen is full of light and connected to the dining room for family and friends. Finally, the tile drops a subtle hint of contemporary style in a traditional space. We hope you enjoy this home as much as the homeowners.
